During the fifth quarter, a series of stakeholder's consultations
have been conducted in various FIUs. The main purpose of the meetings was to
aware the people's representatives and opinion-makers about the surface and
groundwater availability in various core zones in the state. The study team
presented the facts and figures of the present status of the water availability
in particular water schemes and zones. The idea behind these consultations was
to make people understand the value of water, water conservation and consumer's
participation for the successful implementations of the Uttarakhand Water
Supply Scheme (UWSP). A total of 216 (188 – Male & 28-
Female) stakeholders took an active part in 6 consultations. Apart from
Village Panchayat representatives, social workers, ward members of the Nagar
Panchayat, Nagar Palika and Nagar Nigam, The MLA of Dharampur Shri Vinod
Chamoli, MLA Sahaspur Shri Sahadev Pundir, MLA Vikashnagar Shri Munna Singh Chauhan,
Mayor Dehradun Shri Sunil Uniyal along with prominent personalities also
participated in the above consultations.
